My mother was a broadcaster, she used to work within the electromagnetic network, and her voice was once heard by everyone. But now, her voice has become the ghost I pursue.

As Nikola Tesla said, energy, frequency, and vibration are the keys to unlocking these mysteries. "Psychic Machines" takes place in a field that resembles a dark cave. Here, electromagnetism is not treated as a principle that supports mechanical work, much like before the invention of the Leyden jar, electricity and electromagnetic waves were regarded as co-existing with life. The life, vitality, and perhaps whispers from beyond left behind in the past are imprinted within it. I draw a possibility from Victorian vitalism and Edison's unfinished spirit phone, attempting to obtain some information, some ghostly traces of things that once existed, from the magnetic field using some buzzing machines.

In the dark space, machines bearing traces of manual craftsmanship constitute a dynamic psychic field. Nine painting machines tremble, walk, and leave traces on a long scroll. A rudimentary record player uses a dysfunctional earpiece to inscribe subtle vibrations onto a record, bottles filled with blue liquid emit faint sounds using magnets and coils. Two types of machines use different waves to suspend and undulate small spheres, and a homemade antenna lies collapsed in the corner.
