As Nikola Tesla said, energy, frequency, and vibration are the keys to unlocking these mysteries. "Psychic Machine" takes place in a space akin to a dark cave. Here, electromagnetism is not treated as a principle supporting mechanical work. Instead, it is approached as it was perceived before the invention of the Leyden jar, when electricity and electromagnetic waves were seen as coexisting with life itself. Imprinted within are remnants of life from the past, vitality, and perhaps whispers from beyond. Drawing on Victorian vitalism and Edison's unfinished "spirit phone," I explore a possibility: attempting to extract information, some ghostly trace of what once was, from the magnetic field using a collection of humming machines.

My mother was a broadcaster; her work immersed her in the network of electromagnetism, her voice once heard by all.

Within the darkened space, machines bearing the traces of handcraft assemble a dynamic psychic field. Nine drawing machines tremble and move across a long scroll, leaving their marks. A rudimentary record player engraves tiny vibrations onto a record using a defunct telephone receiver, while bottles filled with blue liquid emit faint sounds through magnets and coils. Two machines levitate small spheres using different waves, causing them to rise and fall, and a homemade antenna lies slumped in a corner.
